Dear Lizard Spotter,
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit the site to share your wall lizard encounters. The interactive map will allow you to accurately plot where you’ve seen the lizards. By sharing your sightings you will be making a valuable contribution to mapping the distribution of the species which will in turn allow us to predict how these populations may fair in the future. In addition, we would also like for you to tell us how you feel about the lizards being present in the UK, so please let us know in the comments section provided.
Instructions-
1. Make sure the map is set to satellite view (top left). You can then zoom (bottom right) into areas on the map to find the exact spot where you saw the lizard. Zooming in to the maximum extent will allow you to be more precise.
2. Turn on the spray can tool by clicking the button in the top right hand corner and click once on the map to mark the spot.
3. To move to another area and mark other lizard locations, firstly turn off the spray can by clicking on the button .You can now move to another location by dragging the map and zooming in/out as necessary. Don’t forget to turn the spray on again to mark the next lizard spot.
Press ‘clear’ if you want to start again.
