What is the Sydney central region?
The Sydney central region is Sydney’s conventional inner city area, also known as the ‘Eastern Harbour Central City’ in urban planning. It is comprised of the Bayside, Burwood, Canada Bay, Inner West, Randwick, Strathfield, Woollahra, Waverly, and City of Sydney local government areas. Please note, the survey is interested in people who CYCLE in this area, not just those who live in the area.
How long will take?
The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete; it is comprised of 9 questions and features a fun interactive map!
What is the survey for?
This survey is one component of a Master of City Planning thesis at UNSW (course code: PLAN7149) under the supervision of Prof Bill Randolph and with ethics clearance granted via the School of the Built Environment (ethics code: HC210678). All data is anonymous and individual responses will be treated in confidence and not made publicly available. If you have any questions or concerns about this survey, you may contact z5453703@ad.unsw.edu.au.
The survey is interested in identifying where different kinds of people cycle in Sydney, what infrastructure they use, and why. The research aims to better understand the habits of worker-cyclists (e.g. couriers, delivery riders) as a group not often represented in research, policy, or data; and how their habits may differ from other types of cyclists.
Please respond to the survey by Friday 18th of October 2024.
Your contribution is greatly appreciated, thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
